MOAB — One man was killed in a crash between a Jeep and semi-truck on state Route 151 outdoors of Moab Wednesday evening.
A 66-year-old man was driving a Jeep Wrangler about 10 p.m., when, for an unknown cause, the Jeep crossed into oncoming site visitors about 23 miles north of Moab, in response to the Utah Freeway Patrol. The Jeep struck an oncoming tractor-trailer.
The driving force of the Jeep was killed. His identify was not instantly launched pending notification of members of the family. A 38-year-old girl within the passenger seat of the Jeep was taken to an space hospital in critical situation. The driving force of the semi was not injured, the UHP acknowledged.
What triggered the Jeep to cross into oncoming site visitors remained beneath investigation Thursday.
